Pro Cut 1200 or 630 Vinyl Cutter LCD is blank, and cutter won’t boot up.

Tuesday, December 4th, 2007

Their are two red buttons on either end of the carriage. These buttons make sure that the carriage wont bang against the side of the cutter if it gets some bad information. However, the cutter WILL NOT boot up if one of these buttons is depressed. This means that if the carriage is all the way to one side, move it GENTLY off of the buttons, and you cutter Pro Cut CR 630 or 1200 should boot right up!

Refine Cutter Not Tracking in the Y Axis (When Cutting Vertically)

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

 Common Causes:

1) Make sure your pinch rollers are the same tension.

2) Make sure you have the proper blade offset.

3) Your pinch rollers may be just plain worn out. If the above two didn’t work, try replacing the rollers. One year of use is their average effective lifetime.

Refine Vinyl Cutter Doesn’t Close Shapes When Cutting Even Though Offset Is Set Correctly

Friday, September 21st, 2007

Symptoms: While cutting closed shapes like circles, or squares the cutter leaves minute pieces of vinyl uncut that makes weeding difficult. This is a repeatable condition. (i.e. If you cut the same file 10 times, it will leave it uncut in the same place 10 times.)

Solution: This problem is not related to the offset of the blade, but is important that for accurate cuts, you have the offset correct before using this solution! See our guide on Setting the Blade Offset for your cutter.

  1. Make sure your blade offset is correctly set.
  2. Open up the Settings in your cutting software. We’ll use SignCut X2 for example here.
  3. From the Settings Menu, Select Settings, or hit this button from the top toolbar: Settings Button
  4. There is a setting in the middle called “Overcut”. Increase this setting until your cutter no longer leaves pieces uncut. My Refine MH-1351 needed .1 once all was said and done.
